The Screening Company
AME has engaged Onsite Health Diagnostics, a national company that offers
a unique early disease detection system based on in-depth health screenings,
to provide all of these free screenings.
Why You Should Be Screened For All Tests
- All tests help diagnose major diseases with the highest incidence
rates in the U.S. All of these conditions have few obvious symptoms.
They are “silent” before they become serious.
- The tests listed for each attendee and their spouse are FREE.
- The tests involve little or no pain and are non-invasive, using only a simple finger stick.
- All screening scores for these conditions can be improved
with early detection, even those scores that are
out-of-acceptable range.
Screening Test List
The objective of these tests is to help identify disease conditions
at their
earliest stages so that they can be stopped or treated
as soon as possible.
Cholesterol – 1 in 3 people have high cholesterol.
What is it? Cholesterol is a waxy, fat-like compound that is found in many foods,
in your
blood stream and in all the body’s cells.
How can it affect you? High cholesterol can increase the risk of heart attack, stroke,
coronary heart disease and cardiovascular disease (the nation’s #1 killer).
What should you know about the test? Results show total cholesterol, HDL
(“good” cholesterol), LDL (“bad” cholesterol), HDLC ratios and triglycerides. High
cholesterol
is a leading risk for heart disease and stroke, according to the American Heart
Association.
Blood Pressure or Hypertension – 1 in 5 people have high blood pressure
or hypertension.
What is it? It is the presence of blood pushing against blood vessel walls. High
blood pressure, also called hypertension, is dangerous because it makes the heart
work harder to pump
blood to the body.
How can it affect you? High blood pressure or hypertension can lead to strode,
heart attack, heart failure or kidney failure.
What should you know about the test? Measures the force of blood exerted
on the inside walls of blood vessels. High blood pressure is dangerous because
it makes the heart work harder to pump blood to the body and can lead to stroke,
heart attack, heart failure or kidney failure.
Diabetes – 1 in 17 people have diabetes.
What is it? Diabetes is a disease in which the body does not produce or properly
use
insulin, a hormone that is needed to convert sugar, starches and other food
into
energy for daily life.
How can it affect you? Diabetes can lead to heart disease or stroke. If you
take action to manage your blood glucose when you have pre-diabetes, you
can delay or prevent Type 2 diabetes from ever developing.
What should you know about the test? Tests the amount of glucose or
blood sugar in the
blood to provide an indicator of the correct amount of
insulin in the body. A majority of pre-diabetes can be prevented from
becoming full blown diabetes.
