Elkay Manufacturing makes stainless steel sinks and develops innovative faucets, water coolers, drinking fountains, bottle fillers, foodservice solutions, cabinetry, casework and countertops. On this tour you will see 1) the manufacturing of stainless steel sinks and other products, 2) value stream maps used for capacity planning and generating process improvements and 3) visual standards and communication that include quality standards boards, scheduling boards, shadow boards and a floor coloring scheme. Both leader and operator standard work are practiced, SMED events are conducted and six sigma tools are employed. By taking this tour, you will see how using the right tools can make all the difference.
