The Complete Lean Enterprise

baby image Value Stream Mapping for Administrative and Office Processes. A Lean enterprise relentlessly drives out Non-Value Added Waste by improving the flow of materials and information. But it is imperative that companies apply Lean thinking to all processes, non-production as well as production, because the effort you put into this will more than pay off. Taking both non-production and production into account and redesigning key business processes will yield tremendous benefits for your organization. This Workshop is based on the Shingo Prize winning book, The Complete Lean Enterprise, reviewing the eight basic wastes in the context of non-production processes. The manner by which Lean thinking is applied to information-intensive processes is then explored by making use of Value Stream Mapping — the assessment and planning tool of Lean practitioners. Attendees will learn to use this tool to define the current state of an existing business process, redesign the process based on Lean concepts and develop an implementation plan for the future-state model. A case study will be provided to enhance the learning process.
